Metro FM has officially confirmed its host lineup for the 2026 METRO FM Music Awards, set to take place on 25 April, with a mix of established and newly introduced on-air personalities leading different segments of the show. Among the announcements, Moozlie and Scoop Makhathini have been selected to host the Green Room, placing them at the centre of one of the event’s most interactive spaces.

The Green Room remains a key component of the awards, offering real-time reactions and immediate post-win interviews with artists as they exit the main stage. Moozlie and Scoop Makhathini are expected to guide these conversations, engaging winners and capturing behind-the-scenes moments as the night unfolds. Their role positions them as a bridge between the ceremony and audiences seeking a closer look at the artists’ experiences.

Their appointment comes shortly after both personalities joined Metro FM as part of the station’s refreshed 2026 lineup. The duo currently co-host a weekend lifestyle and music show titled “They Not Like Us,” marking Moozlie’s official entry into radio and Scoop’s continued presence in the broadcast space. The show forms part of the station’s broader strategy to introduce new voices while maintaining its connection to contemporary culture and music.

Moozlie, widely recognised for her work in television and music, brings a youth-driven perspective shaped by her experience in entertainment and pop culture. Her transition into radio has been described as a significant step in her career, aligning her with a national platform that reaches a wide and diverse audience.

Scoop Makhathini, on the other hand, adds extensive experience as a broadcaster, cultural commentator and former awards host. His history with the Metro FM Music Awards includes previous hosting duties, as well as earlier involvement in Green Room segments, equipping him with familiarity with the event’s structure and demands.

Together, the pairing reflects a combination of established broadcasting expertise and contemporary cultural relevance. Their on-air collaboration on “They Not Like Us” has already introduced audiences to their dynamic, which is expected to translate into their Green Room hosting responsibilities.

In addition to Moozlie and Scoop Makhathini’s role, Metro FM has also outlined hosts for other segments of the awards, including the main stage, Black Carpet and the Voice of God. These announcements form part of the build-up to one of South Africa’s major music events, which continues to recognise achievements across the local industry.

As the awards date approaches, attention remains on how the newly introduced hosting combinations, particularly in the Green Room, will contribute to the overall broadcast and audience experience on the night.
