
Inter are slight favourite to edge out AC Milan.
A clash of the Milan giants is in order on Sunday evening as Inter Milan take on AC Milan in a Serie A battle at the San Siro.
The two sides have just two points seaprating them heading into this match in a jam-packed table, with Inter In second place and AC Milan in fifth.
With Serie A leaders Napoli a point clear of Inter, the whole top six are currently separated by just five points, not far under a third of the way into the season.
Christian Chivu took over as Inter manager in June, the former Inter defender taking over after Simone Inzaghi’s side had lost the league title to Napoli and been hammered 5-0 by Paris St Germain in the Uefa Champions League final.
Inter have had a good start under Chivu, winning eight and losing just three of their first 11 Serie A games. They have also won all of their opening four Champions League matches of the campaign, and are tied at the top of the standing with Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
Chivu’s side could have Turkish attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu back from an injury to face his former side on Sunday. Calhanoglu joined Inter in 2021 on a free transfer after leaving AC Milan.
The 31 year-old is Inter’s top scorer in Serie A so far, with five goals.
Experienced coach Massimiliano Allegri took over at AC Milan this season for his second spell in charge.
The 58 year-old has lost just one match with Milan in Serie A this season, winning six and drawing four.
Milan, indeed, have not lost since suffering a surprise defeat at home to Cremonense in their opening Serie A match of the season. Veteran Luka Modric has joined to add his nous to the midfield, while Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao are the side’s top scorers with four goals apiece.
According to the latest Betway odds, Inter are favourites at 2.07, while AC Milan are at 3.95 and a draw at 3.40.
