US Singer Joe

Celebrated US singer Joe Thomas has officially arrived in South Africa, landing at OR Tambo International Airport on the evening of Thursday, August 7, 2025. The internationally acclaimed R&B artist is in the country to headline a star-studded musical lineup at the highly anticipated Women’s Day celebration, taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Known for his smooth vocals, timeless hits, and magnetic stage presence, Joe Thomas was greeted by a warm reception from fans and media alike upon his arrival. Many had gathered in the arrivals terminal hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer whose music has spanned more than three decades and continues to resonate with audiences across the globe.

US singer Joe, best known for classic tracks such as “I Wanna Know,” “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do),” and “If I Was Your Man,” is no stranger to performing for global audiences. However, his upcoming appearance in Johannesburg holds special significance. His performance will form the centerpiece of South Africa’s official Women’s Day 2025 festivities — a day commemorating the historic 1956 march of over 20,000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against apartheid-era pass laws.

In a brief statement at the airport, Joe expressed his excitement to be part of such a meaningful event.

“It’s always an honor to perform for fans around the world, but being invited to celebrate Women’s Day in South Africa is truly special. I look forward to sharing love, music, and respect for the powerful women who’ve shaped this country’s history and future,” he said.

US Singer Joe to Celebrate South African Women Through Music

Organizers of the event have described Joe’s performance as a “musical tribute to womanhood,” with the show aiming to uplift and empower women from all walks of life through a night of soulful music and celebration.

The Women’s Day concert at DP World Wanderers Stadium is expected to draw thousands of attendees. Alongside US singer Joe, a number of South Africa’s top musical talents are also set to perform, creating a unique blend of international and local artistry. Among the confirmed South African artists are award-winning vocalists, amapiano stars, and gospel powerhouses, all joining forces to celebrate the strength and resilience of South African women.

The stadium, known for hosting major sporting and cultural events, is being specially prepared for the occasion, with organizers promising state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and visual effects to enhance the concert experience.

“We are honored to have US singer Joe join us for this year’s Women’s Day celebration. His music speaks to the heart, and we believe his presence will make this event truly unforgettable.”

Born Joseph Lewis Thomas, US singer Joe began his career in the early 1990s and quickly rose to fame with his debut album Everything in 1993. His subsequent albums — including All That I Am (1997), My Name Is Joe (2000), and Signature (2009) — cemented his place as one of R&B’s most influential voices.

Over the years, Joe has collaborated with music giants such as Mariah Carey, Nas, and G-Unit, and has received multiple Grammy nominations. Despite the ever-evolving music landscape, Joe’s style remains rooted in soulful melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and authentic storytelling — qualities that have earned him a dedicated fanbase worldwide, including in South Africa.

This is not US Singer Joe’s first visit to the African continent. He previously toured parts of Africa, including Nigeria and Ghana, but his return to South Africa marks a major moment for both his fans and the broader music community.

Tickets for the Women’s Day 2025 celebration at DP World Wanderers Stadium are still available via authorized online platforms and retail partners. Organizers urge fans to purchase tickets early due to high demand, especially following the announcement of Joe’s arrival.

Gates are expected to open at 3 PM on the day of the event, with opening performances beginning at 5 PM. Joe is scheduled to take the stage later in the evening for a full set featuring his biggest hits and crowd favorites.

Security, transportation, and hospitality arrangements have also been carefully planned to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Don’t miss the chance to see US singer Joe live in Johannesburg this Women’s Day — a night of celebration, empowerment, and world-class music awaits.
