YFM has officially revealed its 2026 programming lineup, marking a major reset aimed at capturing the evolving energy of youth culture.

Set to roll out from April 1, the refreshed schedule signals a deliberate shift in tone and direction, with the station positioning itself as more daring, more intentional and deeply in tune with its audience.

“This line-up is a true reflection of where we are as a brand and where youth culture is going. We’re constantly evolving, constantly creating, and always looking for new ways to connect with our audience,” said programme manager Phindile Ziqubu.

“2026 is about being louder, bolder, and more fearless than ever before. And Y NOT?” she added.

As part of this evolution, the station is expanding beyond traditional radio with the introduction of digital-first content under its “Beyond FM” strategy.

These shows are designed to tap directly into Gen Z conversations and interests.

Among them is “It’s an Uncool Show,” hosted by Uncool MC, which promises an insider look into Amapiano culture and its growing global influence.

Meanwhile, Lerai will lead “Money Talks,” a platform aimed at unpacking politics, finances and the socio-economic realities shaping young people’s lives.

On-air changes also form a key part of the shake-up. Karen Mthethwa steps into the mid-morning slot with “The Glow Up,” airing from 9am to 12pm, taking over from long-serving presenter Xtremme.

Evenings are getting a refresh too, with Barbara Moagi and Tulz Madala joining forces to host “Uncensored” from 8pm to 10pm on weekdays.

The duo replaces Dimpho Makgotho, who previously helmed the show for four years.

“The duo will be pushing boundaries and taking conversations to the next level. Expect bold takes, unfiltered opinions, and undeniable unmatched chemistry,” the station said in a statement.

Weekend programming has also been reworked, with DJ Sliqe and Roiii taking over Sunday evenings, while Munaka Muthambi hosts “The Rizz” on Saturdays.
